Burn Stomach Fat Fast
It can be hard to burn
stomach fat fast, especially when you aren’t used to dieting or exercising. One thing you need to realize is
that burning fat can’t be done in a targeted area; you have to burn fat all over the body. So let’s not call
just talk about how to burn stomach fat fast, let’s talk about burning body fat fast.
The only way to burn fat is to consume fewer calories than you would expend. So the first thing you need to look
at is your daily calorie expenditure. This is your basal metabolic rate plus any activity that you would use
throughout the day.

First you will need to figure out your BMR, or basal metabolic rate:
The formula for women:
655 + (4.35 x weight in pounds) + (4.7 x height in inches) - (4.7 x age in years) = BMR
The formula for men:
66 + (6.23 x weight in pounds) + (12.7 x height in inches) - (6.8 x age in year) = BMR
After you have figured that out, determine how active you are throughout the day. If you have an exercise
schedule, which you should have, then add your estimated calories burned in there as well. Here is an example of a
28 year old woman who is moderately active throughout the day, weighs 165 pounds and is 5’8’’. She works out about
a half hour everyday, burning around 350 calories each workout:
655 + (4.35 x 165) + (4.7 x 68) - (4.7 x 28) = 1560.75 ← this is her BMR.
350+ (1560.75 x 1.55) her activity level according to the Harris Benedict Equation = 2769.2 ← this is her daily
caloric needs.
In order to burn stomach fat fast, you need to have a calorie deficit. A calorie deficit of 1500 calories burns
one pound of fat. That can be done in 500 calories per day. In order for this woman to burn a pound of fat each
week, she would have to limit her calorie intake to 2269.2 calories per day. That is very easy to accomplish. She
could burn twice that amount if she limited her calorie intake to 1769.2 per day. This is a sensible eating plan
and leaves plenty of calories for energy throughout the day.
Some people can take this too far and cut their calorie intake too much, trying to burn fat too fast. Any
consumption of less than 1200 calories makes the body go into starvation mode, holding onto any fat in the body.
Consuming too few calories will also make a person fatigued and lifeless. Who wants to live like that?
Understandable, we all want to burn stomach fat fast. But burning fat too fast isn’t wise. Studies show that
quick weight loss usually involves quick weight gain and then the yo-yo effect takes place, which can be very
dangerous to your health. Ever heard the story of the tortoise and the hare? It can apply to weight loss. Better to
have won slowly than to have lost quickly.
